Surf clothes reflect the people, language, and sporting life of surfing. Surf culture has a love for surfing, for waves and life around the ocean. Surf apparel reflects this love in its styling.
Surf clothes reflect a casual dress down approach since surfers spend their days casually following the waves. T-shirts, baggy shorts and board shorts are all popular. Don't expect to find a business suit among surfers.
Indeed, a retiring man leaving the business world to learn the ways of the waves will turn his penny loafers in for flip-flops and surf clothes. He will also need to lay down a credit card for an aloha shirt or T-shirt. And of course, no surfer’s wardrobe is complete without brightly colored zinc sunscreen and a pair of chic sunglasses.
