Surf apparel reflects the spirit of surfing, but you can find it worn far from the beach. Not only is surf apparel popular with today's youth, but it is also popular with adults. You'll see it at Beach Boys concerts populated by men and women in their 40s and 50s.
Surf apparel reminds people from the 60s of their youth in the days before responsibility weighed upon them. Surf themed parties are popular in this demographic and require the correct decor and clothing. Consider throwing one on a cool summer evening and start with mango daiquiris and surfboard shaped finger foods and sandwiches to set the mood.
Of course, your guests will have to wear surf apparel for the occasion. In your invitation ask them to get in the spirit by requesting the ladies wear sundresses, board shorts and bikini tops. Ask the men to wear wetsuits, board shorts, rash guards, and flip-flops. Pull out all of your old surf equipment including surf boards and Tiki torches to remind everyone of their best days on the beach.
